Portville senior Gunnar
Van Curen (160lbs)
(33-5), a Class D and Section 6 champ, also placed in Albany, finishing in sixth to become Portville’s first state placewinner since 1998. The Panther middleweight, who’s looking to wrestle at West Virginia Univ., and major in petroleum engineering, was also this year’s Expressway Conference Most Outstanding Wrestler, and was the OW at the Portville and Class D tourneys.
